Basically the Coolpix Nikon l12 can be considered a budget camera. Too be fair, most people would get all that they want out of this camera. Simplicity is the key here, and the focus on automation.

Nobody would say that the l12 is the most attractive camera on the market. The casing is made out of plastic and weighs around 6 ounces. It takes 2 AA batteries which are found behind a panel in the back. The l12 has 7 megapixels. Although this is not huge, it is more than capable of producing suprisingly good pictures.

Another great feature is the Face Priority Focus, which is capable of identifying faces and capturing them in the best possible way. These types of features are not common on camera's in this range, so you are getting a couple of extras thrown in.

At the end of the day the Coolpix Nikon l12 is a simple digital camera to use. It doesn't get any easier than just pointing and clicking. It will probably suit most needs. It takes good pictures and has a few nice features not often found within this range of budget.
